About Ms. May

Hi! My name is Nicole May. This will be my first year working at Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Preschool, and I am so excited! I began my teaching career after getting my Elementary Teaching Credential in 2008. I taught first grade in Nevada, and then after moving back to California I continued to work with Elementary aged children at Montessori Center School in Goleta. I then began working at Bethania Preschool in Solvang as an After School Teacher and Pre-K aide for two years and I just absolutely loved working with the younger children. I also briefly worked as a Toddler Teacher (ages 1 and 2) in Santa Barbara until the Pandemic hit.

I have three children of my own, a daughter who is starting 6th grade, a son going to 4th and my youngest son who is about to turn 4 will be attending SYVPP for this school year. Some of my favorite things are baking, running, coffee, shopping, and spending time with my family. I also love animals! I have a Beagle named Monte, a Guinea Pig and a Hamster and I can’t forget my Betta fish Max Crumbly.

I am so excited to work with your child this year. Age 3 is one of my favorite years. It is so much fun to watch their imaginations blossom and their curiosity grow. I love working with each child and getting to truly know them. It is a privilege to get to see how much they learn and develop over time. I also love books and sharing their magic with children. Some of my favorites are Corduroy, Froggy Gets Dressed and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
